Delta Plus is known to be much more contagious. As of June 6, Delta Plus has been seen in Canada, Germany, Russia, Nepal, Switzerland, India, Poland, Portugal, Japan and the United States. The Delta variant of the Covid was launched in March 2021 in Europe.
How many people have been affected by Delta Plus?
According to Public Health England, Delta Plus was found in 63 bodies in England. On the other hand, as of June 11, this new strain has been found in the bodies of 6 people in India. There have also been reports of new strains of coronavirus in Canada, Germany and Russia. In addition, 2 people in Nepal, 9 people in Poland, 13 people in Japan and 14 people in the United States have been affected by Delta Plus.
Worryingly, this strain can block monoclonal antibodies. Specific information on how contagious this strain is has not yet emerged. Researchers have blamed the Delta variant for the second wave of covid in the country. This delta variant i.e. B.1.617.2 strain is highly contagious. A study by the National Disease Control and Indian SARS COV2 genomic consortium found that this delta variant was 50 percent more contagious than the alpha variant of coronavirus. Naturally, Delta Plus could bring even greater danger, it seems.
