Cosmic rice' will meet the food crisis! Rice seeds Orbiting the moon, are cultivated in China.

China takes innovative steps to meet food crisis The country is trying to grow crops from rice seeds orbiting the moon to grow more crops.

The Chinese moon Chang-5 orbited the moon in November 2020. This lunar mission lasted for 23 days. 40 grams of rice seeds were kept in Chang-5. Initially, the South China Agricultural University in Guangdong Province conducted research to find out the effect of these rice on weightless space.

Paddy is currently being produced from these paddy plants. Guo Tao, deputy director of the research center, said that after planting these rice seeds from space, their height is now 1. After the research, the seeds of this paddy will be planted in the field for cultivation. Researchers are hopeful that rice production from these seeds will increase a lot.

This is not the first time that China has sent seeds of various crops into space. Xi Jinping's country has been conducting this operation since 1986. Earlier, China conducted this study with cotton and tomato seedlings. Cotton, potatoes and yeast seeds were sent to the moon by Chang 4 Chinese lander. The researchers wanted to see if the photosynthesis needed for plant growth took place on the moon. At that time water was being artificially sprinkled on these seeds in space. It was learned that a lot of cotton came out at that time when the cotton seeds burst. So far, China has sent more than 200 species of seeds into space.

This time it was the turn of rice seeds. Scientists are trying to see how these seeds are mutating in space without weight. It is known that the character of the seed changes in space and if it is planted on the earth, the crop is also good. These rice are called space rice. These space rice will be used to meet the food crisis. It is known that this rice may come to the market in 3 to 4 years.
